Space Needle Drone Crasher Has Day in Court

Seattle Space Needle

The man who crashed a DJI Inspire 1 drone onto the roof of the Space Needle in Seattle last New Year’s Eve is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow, November 22, 1017, to answer to the charge of reckless endangerment and could face up to a year prison sentence and/or a $5,000. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident, but five pyro-technicians were working on the roof putting the finishing touches on installing fireworks very close to the area where the drone crashed. The crash was all caught on video. If you want to jump right to the “good part,” it’s at the 2:20 mark. You can read the very detailed police report here.
